Recreation is an important element of the physical and mental well-being of all of us. Research shows that recreation is a valuable tool in helping persons with disabilities rehab physically and psychologically. Recreation helps persons with disabilities develop self-confidence, a sense of self-identity, learn valuable life skills from more experienced mentors, and become active in their communities.
GAF’s sports program includes a wheelchair rugby team based in Baltimore, MD and a pushrim wheelchair racing team with athletes from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Global Abilities athletes competed in eight events in states throughout the northeast United States in 2014.

Sponsor GAF Sports
Wheelchair sports is expensive! A new rugby wheelchair costs over $6,000. We welcome individual and corporate sponsors to fund the Global Abilities sports program. Contact AJ Nanayakkara (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss potential sponsorship opportunities.
